STATEMENT

My art is a constant search for truth, not in the literal sense, but in the poetic and symbolic sense.

Surrealism allows me to explore the deepest recesses of my mind and express the complexity and richness of the human experience through metaphorical images and symbols that evoke emotions.

My work is a distorted reality that invites reflection.

Gerardo comes from a painters family which have developed the "Fingerpainting" technique, that refers to paint just with the fingers and fingernail instead of the regular brushes, using oil paints on small ceramic tile pieces, painting beautiful mexican scenes in just minutes.

Special mention to his family teachers:  Jorge Lopez, Mario Lopez and Antonio Lopez. They inspire him to do what he does and become in the artist he is now.
